some facts

  • mcdonalds coffee in europe always tastes better than starbucks.
  • coffee on airplanes always tastes like piss. no exceptions.
(i now know why. after brewing an aeropress on board a plane {with some really good beans!} and cupping on different altitudes, i can state with 100% accuracy that the boiling point of water becomes significantly lower. even if airlines used the best possible beans {which they never will}, the taste of coffee will be underdeveloped and empty)
  • specialty doesn’t mean good. it just means we roast our own. it’s easier to screw up a small batch, especially considering the human factor. that doesn’t mean that it’s not good, neither does it mean that it’s bad. it’s just a different approach to roasting.
  • be responsible. know where your coffee comes from, ask about the farmers. don’t be an asshole about it, though.
  • be chill about the whole thing.
