we decided to place an object with anonymous artworks there,
and provide some tools for interaction with the object.
the end result looked like this:
we provided a short, painless curatorial text:
“manual 1: corner” is a project about the relationship between art, the city, and its residents. the goal of “manual” is to assist in seeing the city as a contiuation of the comfort of home/
thic corner is our first step, a shard of a nonexhistant museum, spawned by the endless noise of the city, an echo of the themes, explored by artists in it, and a question without a definite answer: what can be done?
you are welcome to touch and interact with all artworks by any and all available means.

in about three hours, we came back to take a look. we saw this:
the locals were very kind to the artworks -- constructive, not desctructive. note that the works were not painted over:
it even attracted the interest of local law enforcement -- with no further action taken.
here are some residents interacting with the object:
we saw an illustration of a little problem (solved soon after) -- no rubbish bins on the way from the station.
a couple of days later, local artists stepped in.

>p.s.
since the neigborhood was poorly planned, it is almost always windy there. as we were installing, i asked a local nurse for her lighter. we smoked a cigarette together. she said, that people in devyatkino/western murino only use so-called “turbo lighters” because of the constant wind.
